What's New for the Ford F-150 Lightning?

The Ford F-150 Lightning is an anticipated model in the auto industry as an electric truck similar to the gas-powered Ford F-150. This model has advanced technology and a host of features to accommodate the modern driver as the third generation. It's also quicker off the line than other models in the automaker's F-series.

Ford F-150 Lightning Trims & Features

Two electric motors power the F-150 with one motor on each axle. Ford claims it's the most potent EV truck ever produced with a battery that exceeds the 100-kWh ceiling. All trims come with all-wheel drive. The exterior styling is also more traditional than other EV trucks scheduled to release on the market. Inside the cabin, you'll find a 15.5-inch touchscreen with a Ford's Sync 4A infotainment system. Features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard in every trim, and voice commands can also be performed with Amazon Alexa.

Ford F-150 Lightning Horsepower

With a maximum towing range of 10,000 pounds, the Ford F-150 Lightning is more capable of tough jobs than the 5,000-pound capability of the F-150 with a V6 engine. Pulling a trailer feels effortless and doesn't cause the truck to become weighed down or hard to maneuver. The EV truck is impressive because it delivers 563 horsepower and 775 lb-ft of torque. There's twice as much energy consumption while towing a trailer, and there's also less of a risk of overheating as it leverages regenerative braking while driving downhill. This truck also has a range of over 300 miles before it needs to be recharged.

Ford F-150 Lightning Safety

Many hands-free driving aids like BlueCruise are included in this model for added convenience and safety. The tech features guide the driver backward when hooking up a trailer with a backup camera provided. The smart hitch can even weigh the trailer each time it's connected to the truck for added safety.
