Like the cop who pulled this guy over said: This man should get an A for creativity. While we don’t condone his attempt to take the carpool lane without getting caught, what he resorted to got a chuckle out of us.
A driver in Washington State placed a cardboard cutout of the Most Interesting Man in the World (MIMITW) on his front passenger seat so he could use the HOV lane, but a nearby patrol officer wasn’t buying the ruse. He pulled the guy over, ticketed him and even took a photo of the unbelievable ploy, which he later shared on Twitter with an amusing, light-hearted message.
Many people illegally take the carpool lane without a dummy - or cardboard cutout in this case - and never get caught, much to the dismay of other single drivers who spot them. Perhaps this guy had an unlucky day or maybe the cutout actually drew attention. It’s flat after all and not fooling anyone from a side profile. At least the driver and his cardboard companion were wearing seatbelts though - that’s one law that wasn’t broken.
