At the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas last year, Ford got a lot of buzz over a Petty’s Garage Mustang GT that was on display. It got so much attention, in fact, that Ford decided to do a limited-edition run of them.

Racing legend Richard Petty lent a hand to Ford when coming up with the insane 624-horsepower special-edition Mustang and AC/DC’s Brian Johnson bought the first Garage Stage 2 version! Along with it, Petty helped come up with a Stage 1 version, which gives the 'Stang a unique, ultra-sporty look with revised front and rear fascias. At the back, a racecar-inspired spoiler and MagnaFlow center-exit exhaust add eye-catching design highlights.

Powering the beast is a supercharged Roush 5.0-liter V-8 from Ford Racing. Other exclusive elements include HRE FlowForm wheels, specially embroidered head restraints and an autograph from Richard Petty that’s planted right on the dashboard. The Petty’s Garage Stage 2 Mustang GT takes things up a notch with a two-tone Petty Blue and black paint job (same as the SEMA car) and a cool ghosted No. 43 on the hood and C-pillar, among other upgrades.

Looking at the image above it’s easy to see why Brian Johnson invested in the Stage 2 Mustang GT, which is his first-ever domestic car purchase by the way. And that’s saying something.
