What's New for the 2019 Ford Taurus?
The new Ford Taurus is part of the sixth Taurus generation which was introduced back in 2010. The model features an advanced optional infotainment system, and it has a roomy trunk, which is one of the most spacious in its class, offering 20.1 cubic-feet of space

New Trims for the 2019 Ford Taurus
The new Ford comes in SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO trims. All trims offer the same amount of power, except for the SHO, which is stronger and requires premium fuel. When it comes to fuel economy, the SE, SEL and Limited are rated at an estimated 22 mpg combined, while the SHO is rated at 19 mpg. All trims except for the SHO run on regular unleaded fuel - something to consider if you're looking at your budget. The Taurus SE features a 4.2 inch screen designed for its audio system, includes hands-free connectivity, 18-inch wheels, and six-way power front seats. The 18-inch wheels are standard for the SE and SEL trims, while the SHO and Limited upgrade to 20-inch wheels. The SE comes in 5 colors, both the Limited and SHO trims are available in 7 colors, while the SEL is available in 8.
The Taurus SEL takes things up a notch and features automatic climate control, and leather around the wheel, as well as other items. There is also an optional package which features an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system which has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. The latest system put out by Ford is one of the best in the industry, having a clear screen, quick reaction times, and great app integration. When it comes to the Taurus SHO, the trim includes heated and cooled leather seats, as well as other perks.
Optional All Wheel Drive on a Powerful Drivetrain
The Taurus comes with a 3.5 liter V-6 which is rated at 288 horsepower and at 254 lb-ft of torque which pairs to 6-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is optional, while front-wheel drive is standard for the 2019 model. The V-6 is refined and smooth, and the vehicle is at its best at highway speeds when it settles into a comfortable cruise. When it comes to higher trims, the Taurus SHO is able to deliver some thrills, using its twin-turbo 3.5 liter V-6 which is rated at 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.
The Taurus SHO comes with all-wheel drive, which does a good job when it comes to putting that power to the ground, and it is able to handle curvy roads. The SHO also features a firmer suspension which is able to take in most road surfaces. The Taurus provides a soft ride, which channels the floaty feel which was once typical when it came to big sedans. There is also an optional Performance Package available for the SHO which adds different suspension settings, summer tires, revised steering tuning, and stronger brakes.
The 2019 Ford Taurus Has a Clear Vision for Safety
The vehicle includes the standard airbags as well as stability control, and a rearview camera. There is a Driver Assist Package available which comes with a few useful features, the package including active park assist, adaptive cruise control as well as forward collision warnings, and lane departure warning & lane keep assist. With all of these safety features, it is clear that this is a safe vehicle.
