Strengthened by robust retail sales, the company realized a nice increase in sales compared to those from November 2015. Ford sold 197,574 vehicles overall in November 2016, with retail sales making up 154,114 of the vehicles sold – which is a 10 percent increase over last November.

F-Series trucks accounted for 72,089 vehicles sold; the 11 percent increase marked the line’s best November sales total since 2001. 60,079 SUVs were sold in November, making for a 20 percent increase. Expedition sales increased a whopping 75 percent, Edge grew 32 percent, Explorer gained 14 percent and Escape sales were up 11 percent. “Strong retail sales increases for both F-150 and our all-new Super Duty pickups drove F-Series above the 70,000 vehicle mark – a November threshold we have not seen in 15 years,” declared Mark LaNeve, vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service.

Fleet sales, which consist of daily rental, commercial and government segments, totaled 43,460 vehicles, declining 9 percent. This performance is a result of the company’s choice to front-load fleet sales this year.
