Ford has added a trapezoidal grille with bladed inserts to the exterior of the 2017 Escape, but the bulk of the new updates are either inside the vehicle or under the hood.
Drivers can choose from three engines: the standard 2.5-liter with independent variable cam timing (iVCT), an available 1.5-liter EcoBoost® iVCT (Ford’s most fuel-efficient Escape engine) or the available 2.0-liter EcoBoost with responsive twin-scroll turbocharger. The EcoBoost engines include fuel-saving and emissions-conscious Auto Start-Stop technology as a standard feature, and all three are matched to a six-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission that allows the driver to override automatic operation and manually control the gear selection (when in Sport mode).
Kick gently under the rear bumper to open the available hands-free, foot-operated tailgate, and available technologies can alert you when your vehicle begins drifting out of the lane or there are vehicles in your blind spot. Stay connected with the available Sync® 3 advanced communication and infotainment system. Optional Sync® Connect works with new FordPass™ to allow you the ability to check your fuel level, schedule maintenance, request roadside assistance, remotely lock and unlock your vehicle and much more.
