Ford models equipped with SYNC 3 now offer a unique way to potentially lower your insurance rate. DriverScore, a new app developed by IVOX, is changing the game when it comes to car insurance, offering personalized driving scores that can help motorists lower their premiums.
Ford is the first automaker to offer DriverScore connectivity, proving how its advanced SYNC AppLink technology truly enhances the vehicle ownership experience. If you own or lease a Ford car, truck or SUV in the Atlanta area, read on!
What if multiple people use my car?
One of the biggest benefits of DriverScore is that it provides a score personal to you. Even if another driver uses your car, say a spouse with a lead-foot or a teen driver, you won’t be affected because the app only collects data when your phone connects to the car. Similar technologies don’t offer this level of personalization, only providing a score for a vehicle overall.
How often do I receive a score?
After driving 50 miles, your first score will be issued, then the app provides daily score updates to encourage positive driving behavior. Scores can also be compared month to month. Once you have a score, you can share it with insurance companies, allowing for a more personalized quote and potential savings on insurance costs.
How are driver scores determined?
Scores are based on a variety of factors, such as speed, acceleration, braking, location and time of day. When your score is shared with insurance companies, it doesn’t include specific data points to help protect your privacy. Some competing apps share raw vehicle data with insurance companies, which some drivers may prefer to keep private.
