Ford Supports First Responders and Community During Los Angeles County Wildfires

Recent wildfires in Los Angeles, CA, have caused widespread destruction, leaving many residents without homes and many businesses in ruins. Despite the heavy losses from these fires, the auto industry—particularly the revered American automaker Ford Motors—has come forward to support the community. Ford has announced initiatives aimed at helping affected community members and first responders as they work to recover and rebuild.

How is Ford Helping?

In collaboration with Ford Philanthropy, Ford dealers from 13 states in the Western US have donated to the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. Their donation of $465,000 is intended to provide local organizations in California with the necessary supplies and resources to aid community members. The funds raised by Ford and its charitable division also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. Along with supporting the wider LA community, Ford is offering displaced residents discounted pricing on Ford vehicles and deferred payment options. Ford further provides free electric chargers for customers purchasing an electric vehicle, and its employees are permitted paid leave to help with wildfire recovery efforts.

What Organizations Does Ford Support?

Ford's donations support a number of organizations working in the LA area. The American Red Cross, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon are among those benefiting from Ford's contributions. Together, these organizations continue to offer essential support to LA wildfire victims as they rebuild. The Red Cross remains focused on providing shelter and necessary services to displaced individuals, while Team Rubicon is dedicated to supplying longer-term resources as victims await home rebuilding. Both Feeding America and World Central Kitchen are working to provide meals and food to those affected.

Special Electric Vehicle Support

Owners of Ford and Lincoln vehicles in the FEMA disaster area are eligible for special Ford incentives. This includes reimbursement for all-electric vehicles charged at a charging station from January 7 - 31. Additionally, local Ford dealerships can offer free charging adapters to customers who have lost their homes or are using an electric vehicle to assist in disaster relief. Ford is also offering free replacements for customers whose home charging stations were lost in the wildfires.
