Gwinnett Place Ford's 2016 Escape Review and Research

Since the Ford Escape first made its debut for the 2000 model year, it's been a leader in the compact crossover segment. Its suite of innovative technologies, athletic driving dynamics and fuel-efficient powertrain options have kept buyers loyal to the Ford brand for more than 15 years. Back on the market again for the new model year, the 2016 Ford Escape continues to impress, offering a brand-new infotainment system, two new exterior paint colors and a fresh appearance package for SE models. Take a look at our 2016 Ford Escape review below to discover details about each of these features and the crossover's engine lineup.

Minor modifications have been made to the 2016 Ford Escape in Duluth for the latest model year. Two new paint color options have been added to the color palette: Electric Spice and Shadow Black, while the SE model gains a new chrome appearance package. Offering chrome accents on the liftgate applique, door handles, roof rails, side-mirror skullcaps and license plate applique, along with chrome trim on the front fascia grilles, the package is perfect for drivers who want their car to stand out. It also comes with 19-inch wheels and leather-accented seats, completing its premium look. Aside from this new package, all-new Escape models are outfitted with Ford's new SYNC 3 infotainment system. More intuitive and responsive than the outgoing system, SYNC 3 keeps drivers connected while on the go.

A 168-horsepower 2.5L four-cylinder engine comes standard on Escape S models. If you want more power, upgrade to the SE or Titanium, which come with a turbocharged 1.6L four-cylinder, delivering 178 horsepower and 184 lb.-ft. of torque. Still need an extra boost of performance? Try opting for the turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder, generating 240 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. It's only offered on the SE and Titanium versions of the 2016 Ford Escape in Duluth and has the ability to go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds.
