We’re excited to let you all in on some rumors that many sources believe to be true. A few months back when the Detroit Free Press heard that C-MAX and Focus production was moving out of Ford’s Michigan Assembly Plant, reports started popping up about the possible return of the Ford Ranger, which was sadly discontinued in the U.S. after the 2011 model year, while the rest of the world got an all-new version of the truck.

So why do we think rumors about the Ranger are true and why does our blog title mention the Bronco, too? Because of even more news that has cropped up from the Detroit Free Press. The publication says Ford just signed a $700 million deal to make updates to its Michigan Plant that would enable it to produce new vehicles once the Focus and C-MAX are sent elsewhere.

The newspaper says that those new vehicles are going to be the Ford Ranger and Bronco. They also added that the Ranger is likely going to production at the factory as soon as 2018, while the Bronco will likely follow in 2020. Ford hasn’t confirmed its plans, but sources believe they’ll come to fruition in the next couple of years. Plus, Ford just filed to renew the trademark on the Bronco name, which is a big clue to us that the model could be returning to the market.
