When news surfaced that FOX was bringing "The X-Files" back for a six-episode mini-series we were super excited, and that excitement only increased when we discovered that one of the show's most well-known characters would be driving a Ford.
On the anticipated series, FBI Agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) drives a new Ford Explorer Platinum. In addition, an Escape, Mustang and black Taurus are showcased throughout the series, as well. In retrospect, we shouldn' have been too surprised about Scully's ride and the many other Fords featured on the show, as "The X-Files" was known to include Fords in the past. In fact, David Duchovny’s character Agent Fox Mulder drove a Taurus on past episodes and described it as "a good American car."
The new Explorer Platinum recently featured on the latest episodes of the "The X-Files" is just like the ones you'll find at Gwinnett Place Ford. The model is an all-new addition to the Explorer trim lineup for 2016, joining the base, XLT, Limited and Sport. The Platinum stands at the top of the trim lineup, so it offers all the bells and whistles, including a 365-horsepower V6, industry-first 500-watt Sony Audio System, auto-dimming rearview mirror, blind-spot monitoring, lane-departure warning, leather seats, attractive wood and aluminum trim, a dual-panel sunroof and many other features.
The Explorer lineup as a whole also received a revised exterior appearance and retuned suspension for the 2016 model year.
