For 2018, Ford saw it fit to include several upgrades to the US model to keep it on par with the fully-redesigned European variation. Highlighting the changes are a new 4.2-inch screen to replace the previous 3.5-inch. The automaker also dropped the 1.0-liter turbocharged I-3 engine expanded the list of standard equipment to include a rear-view camera, among others.

2 Body Styles - 4 Trims to Choose From

Ford sells the 2018 Ford Fiesta in two body styles (sedan and hatchback) and four trim levels (S, SE, Titanium, and ST). The first three trims are available in both body forms while the performance-oriented ST comes only in hatchback styling. The 2018 Fiesta stocks a wide range of standard and available features and the base S trim provides more equipment than higher-priced alternatives.

The S starts off with 15-inch steel wheels, remote keyless entry, power mirrors, a height-adjustable driver seat, a rear spoiler for the hatchback, power locks, folding rear seats, and a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. On the tech front, the S adds a 4.2-inch center display, Bluetooth, Sync voice controls, air-conditioning, a six-speaker sound system, a rear-view camera, a USB port, and a CD player.

The Fiesta SE gets 15-inch alloy wheels and builds on the S' standard items with automatic headlights, a front center console with armrest, upgraded cloth upholstery, chrome interior door handles power windows. It also receives cruise control, a multi-color ambient lighting, a metallic-painted interior trim, and MyKey parental controls.

The SE has access to an Appearance and Comfort Package that upgrades its aesthetics with 16-inch alloy wheels, a rear spoiler for the sedan, a leather-wrapped shift knob, fog lights, and cloth sports upholstery. The same package offers an adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support and the Sync 3 infotainment interface that incorporates a 6.5-inch touchscreen, satellite radio, enhanced voice controls, smartphone app integration, and dual USB ports. Automatic climate control, heated front seats, and heated outside mirrors are available in the Cold Weather Package.

The Titanium trim ups the ante with the contents of the Appearance and Comfort Package plus a chrome exterior trim, a trip computer, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, unique 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, and a black grille. The model is also home to leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, keyless entry and ignition, HD radio, a Sony eight-speaker system, and a rear-view camera.

Stepping up to the top-of-the-range ST earns you all the SE's features plus performance-oriented amenities such as 17-inch wheels, summer performance tires, quicker steering, upgraded brakes, dual-exhaust tips, a sport-tuned suspension, and a unique bodywork.

The ST also comes with ST-specific cloth sports seats, a distinctive interior trim, and height adjustment for the driver's seat. The ST Recaro Package gives the top-tier model Recaro front sports seats and blackened 17-inch wheels with red brake calipers. All trims can add a navigation system and a sunroof.

Under the Hood

2018 Ford FiestaAll models except the high-performance ST employ a 1.6-liter I-4 unit that manufactures 20 hp and 112 lb-ft of torque. EPA estimates place this engine at 27/35 mpg city/highway and 27/37 mpg with the standard five-speed manual and the optional six-speed dual clutch automatic respectively. The Fiesta ST model seeks motivation from a more potent 1.6-liter turbo-four that cranks out an impressive 197 hp and 202 lb-ft of torque. The engine links to the six-speed to return 26/33 mpg. Front-wheel drive is the sole drivetrain.

Safety First

2018 Ford FiestaStandard safety equipment includes a rear-view mirror, a tire pressure monitoring system, and Ford's Personal Safety System that provides dual-stage airbags. Both the sedan and hatchback received the IIHS' top score of "Good" in four crash tests.
