What's New For the Ford Fiesta

The Ford Fiesta might be a small car, but it has lots to offer. At a time when consumers are gravitating towards SUVs and larger cars, Ford added plenty of standard and available features to the Fiesta to keep consumers happy back. There are more options for a custom finish on this year's Fiesta than ever before. Now, you'll find a rainbow of 10 paint colors that can be paired with one of seven interior trims for a personalized appearance. All the latest technology is in the latest Fiesta, including two versions of Ford's own high-tech SYNC infotainment system. Those who like to drive fast can choose the more powerful turbocharged engine that gives the Fiesta top horsepower among its competitors. With two body styles (a sedan and hatchback) you can choose to have more room for passengers or cargo. The latest Fiesta also stands out for its solid, impact-resistant design and its ample safety features.

Which Trims & Features are Available for 2019?

In 2019, the Fiesta comes in four trim levels. The base model is called the S. With this model, you can keep electronics fully charged with a standard 12V power charging outlet. Other standard amenities include carpeted floor mats in the front, map lights, air conditioning, a center console with integrated cup holders, a multi-function driver's display screen that shows the car's real-time performance statistics, a rear window defroster, an AM/FM radio, and Ford's SYNC infotainment system with Applink, which lets you connect your phone to play music, get directions, find restaurants, and more. The SE comes in a sedan and hatchback version.

They share the same features, but the hatchback gives you more cargo space (about 30 cubic feet). Amenities in both models include two 12V charging ports, a leather-wrapped shift knob, cruise control, power-operated windows, and multi-way adjustable seats for both the driver and passenger. This trim level also gets enhanced cloth bucket seats. Next up is the ST-Line. This trim level adds ambient lighting, a leather-wrapped wheel with red accent stitching, an infotainment system with navigation, and cloth front seats with the trim level logo. On this trim and the ST, you'll get Ford's advanced SYNC 3 infotainment system with navigation, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay as standard features. The ST adds chrome accents, inside and out, remote start, keyless entry, a leather-wrapped shift knob, and steering wheel, and a comprehensive audio package.

Packed with Safety Features

The second engine, which is available on the lower-level trims and standard on the ST, is a 1.6L turbocharged engine that produces nearly 200 HP and up to 202 LB-FT of torque at its top capacity. On the ST, this engine is paired with a sophisticated handling system including a fine-tuned suspension and torque vectoring to make sure you stay in control while having fun taking turns at higher speeds. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on most trims, but you have the option of choosing a six-speed automatic transmission instead. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard on the ST.

Ford Fiesta Safety

Safety starts on the outside with the Fiesta, which has a reinforced body and steel columns to mitigate the impact from a collision. The latest Fiesta has a total of seven airbags throughout the cabin, including a driver's knee airbag, side curtain airbags, and front airbags for the driver and front passenger. Child safety door locks are also standard. A backup camera shows any obstacles that might be in your path, and the post-crash response system responds when you can't.
