What's New For the 2020 Ford Expedition?

Ford has added a whole new trim to the 2020 Ford Expedition series called the King Ranch. This is a luxurious trim. All trims in 2020 will have an infotainment system and driver assistant features. The Platinum trim features new styling, including twenty-two-inch wheels and leather interiors. Styling has become a priority with the 2020 Ford Expedition.

Which Trims & Features are Available in 2020?

All trims of the Ford Expedition offers comfort and space with seating for eight people. It has won awards for having the best-in-class legroom, the best-in-class fuel economy, and the best-in-class towing. There is up to 121 cubic feet of cargo space available as well. There are eight trims available called the XLT, the XLT Max, the Limited, the Limited Max, the King Ranch, the King Ranch Max, the Platinum, and the Platinum Max.

The XLT offers SYNC-3 entertainment systems with voice recognition capabilities. It is a touchscreen that is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The third rows can be reclined 60/40 or have power fold capabilities. There is a hands-free liftgate, roof racks, a panoramic vista roof, and heated mirrors on the exterior. The interior offers leather add-ons and ambient lighting add-ons. FordPass Connect is also available. The XLT Max is very similar, but it is a larger model.

The Limited edition has many of the same features as the above models have listed. This model goes beyond, however, as it offers a Bang and Olufsen sound system with twelve speakers. It also has twenty-inch dark, tarnished wheels. Finally, it has power running boards with stainless steel accents. The Limited Max offers much of the same, but it is a larger model as well from the Limited edition.

The King Ranch trim is the newest trim offered by Ford Expedition. It offers unique styling with either a mesa or ebony interior and Del Rio leather seats, consoles, doors, and steering wheels. The front chairs are captain style with capabilities to be heated and ventilated. They can be moved in ten ways, including lumbar and recline features.

The second-row seating offers armrests, heated seating, and power-folding. The third row provides power-folding, head restraints, and 60/40 power recline seating. The wheels on this model are twenty-two inch aluminum with dark pockets and a King Ranch cap. There is a 360-degree camera as well. The King Ranch Max is the larger model.

Finally, the Platinum model is the most expensive. It offers an Ecoboost engine with maximum power and turbochargers increasing speeds with 400 horsepower. The panoramic vista roof takes up most of the roof. Finally, there are heated and ventilated multi-contour seats with active motion technology integrated into them. Again, the Platinum max is the larger model of the Platinum.

A Perfect Blend of Power and Fuel Efficiency

2020 Ford ExpeditionThe standard engine in the 2020 Ford Expedition is a 3.5L Ecoboost engine. The Platinum trim has the highest horsepower at 400 horsepower and 480 pound-foot torque. All other trims offer 375 horsepower and 470 pounds of torque. The engines are V6 engines that are 10-speed shiftable automatic transmissions.

2020 Ford ExpeditionThe 2020 Ford Expedition features multiple airbags at the driver's seat, passenger seat, front head, rear head, and front sides. There are automatic braking features that offer brake assistance. There is traction control, stability control, blind-spot monitors, lane departure, and keeping assistance and cross-traffic alerts offered in the driver assistance technologies.
