What's New For the 2021 Ford EcoSport?

The 2021 Ford EcoSport has a handful of minor changes across all trim levels. Buyers will find new 17-inch wheels, minor differences in exterior styling, and new blue and yellow exterior colors. The most notable change is an updated appearance package for the SE trim. Six-way driver's seats are now standard on the SES and Titanium trims.

2021 EcoSport Trims & Features

The 2021 EcoSport is available in four trim levels: the base S, SE, SES, and top-of-the-line Titanium. With the S trim, buyers get the base three-cylinder turbocharged engine, air conditioning, power windows and locks, cruise control, tilt/telescoping steering wheel, six-speaker audio, and onboard Wi-Fi. Additions at the SE level include the SYNC 3 infotainment system and an eight-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, a power driver's seat, automatic climate control, and a reverse sensing system.

The sporty SES trim is only available with all-wheel drive and a sport-tuned suspension. This trim also gets rear cross-traffic alert and blind-spot warning. For the top Titanium trim, buyers will get a leather-like interior, heated steering wheel and mirrors, satellite navigation, and a premium audio system.

Two packages are available, both for the SE trim. The Convenience Package has a 110-volt power outlet, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, SYNC 3 with voice activation navigation, and ambient interior lighting. The new Appearance Package has a six-way power driver's seat, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, special interior cloth seats with orange accents, and 17-inch alloy wheels.

2021 Ford EcoSport Horsepower

Base power is a 1.0-liter turbocharged engine with 123 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. A 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 166 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque is available for all-wheel drive models, giving this sub-compact SUV a 2,000-lb. tow rating. Both engines are paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Ford EcoSport Safety

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has given the EcoSport an overall four-star safety rating. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has only rated the EcoSport on rear crash protection and head restraints, giving the vehicle a good rating.

The EcoSport comes equipped with a full front- and side-impact airbags. Other standard safety features are four-wheel disc brakes and ABS, brake assist, electronic stability control, daytime running lights, child safety locks, and traction control.
