2021 Ford Expedition

What's New For the 2021 Ford Expedition?

Following a design refresh in 2020, the Ford Expedition gets minimal changes in 2021. However, that's not an issue for the Expedition, one of the largest and most popular SUVs on the market. The Expedition has a cavernous interior that can hold up to eight people depending on the trim and seating configuration you select. The Ford Expedition is called a "workhorse" for families, an apt description for the classic SUV that is just as durable as it is luxurious. As with other SUVs, you'll find an ascending list of features and niceties with the Ford Expedition. Its standard features include split-folding back row seats, an eight-inch touchscreen display with Ford's SYNC technology, WiFi, and multi-contoured front seats.

Which Features Are Available for 2021?

As before, you'll find four trim levels in the 2021 Ford Expedition lineup. Starting things off is the XLT. Standard amenities on the XLT include an eight-inch infotainment center with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and smartphone pairing. Additionally, the base trim has three rows of seats that hold eight. A total of 15 cup holders is included on all trim levels. A bonus is that a 4G WiFi hotspot is also included.

Starting with the second trim called the Limited, you can get a second entertainment system in the back row. The Limited upgrades to leather upholstery, while the King Ranch has leather seats with accent stitching, and the Platinum gets custom leather seats. The second trim level also has larger 20-inch wheels, while the Platinum tops the line with 22-inch wheels. The King Ranch comes in an extended wheelbase version with more interior space, while the Platinum adds wood trim accents and power-folding seats.

Featuring Great Performance

The Ford Expedition can be configured with two engines for 2021, which are the same two engines found in 2020. The base engine is a strong V6 with a displacement of 3.5 liters. This engine comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission. You have a choice of all-wheel or rear-wheel drive. With the Platinum, you'll get a more powerful 400 HP engine with an identical power output on the short and longer-wheelbase versions.

Technologies to Keep You Safe

Several key safety features are included in the 2021 Ford Expedition. Its amenities include automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and adaptive cruise control that monitors the car head. Lane-keep assist and lane-departure warning are other safety aids.
