What's new for the 2022 Ford Transit Connect?
For the 2022 model year, Transit Connect receives a host of updates and improvements. First and foremost among these is an all-new engine option. The standard 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder engine replaced a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. This new engine is both more powerful and more fuel-efficient than the old one, and it gives the Transit Connect a much-needed boost in performance.
Other notable changes for the 2022 Transit Connect include updated styling inside and out, new infotainment and safety features, and a revised suspension setup that improves ride quality. Overall, Transit Connect is better than ever for the new model year. As a result, it should continue to be a popular choice for a small cargo van or passenger wagon for those in the market.
2022 Ford Transit Connect Trims and Features
The 2022 Ford Transit Connect will come in five trim levels: XL Cargo Van (base), XLT Cargo Van, XL Passenger Wagon, XLT Passenger Wagon, and Titanium Passenger Wagon (the top-level). The base XL trim comes standard with 16-inch steel wheels, manual sliding side doors, black plastic exterior trim, a height-adjustable driver's seat, a four-speaker stereo system, a USB port, and Ford's SYNC 3 infotainment system with a 5.0-inch touchscreen display.
The XLT trim adds 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior trim, privacy glass, power side mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, automatic headlights, cruise control, a rearview camera, upgraded cloth upholstery, and a six-speaker stereo system, satellite radio, and HD Radio.
The Titanium trim adds 18-inch wheels, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an 8-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.
Ford offers several optional features and packages for these trim levels that allow buyers to customize their Transit Connect further. These include roof rails, a cargo management system, an integrated navigation system, heated front seats, and much more.

2022 Ford Transit Connect Horsepower
The Transit Connect's standard 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine produces 169 horsepower and 171 lb.-ft of torque. It significantly increased over the previous generation's 2.0-liter inline-four cylinder engine, which only had 136 horsepower and 128 lb.-ft of torque.
2022 Ford Transit Connect Safety
