What's New for the 2023 Ford Mustang?

Minimal changes were made to the 2023 Ford Mustang's lineup. However, last year's supercharged Shelby GT500 model is no longer available.

What Are the 2023 Ford Mustang Trims & Features?

The latest lineup consists of five Mustang trim levels. Even the budget-friendly EcoBoost trim promises to deliver an entertaining driving experience. It also comes loaded with in-demand features. A few of the highlights include a Wi-Fi hotspot, adjustable cloth bucket seats, and keyless entry with a push-button start.

If you crave more luxury, move up to the Mustang's EcoBoost Premium trim. It upgrades to Ford's user-friendly SYNC 3 infotainment unit, which features an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone pairing. Meanwhile, heated and cooled seats promote elevated comfort. Another nicety is the EcoBoost Premium's nine-speaker audio system. Partial leather upholstery gives the interior a plush touch. A few head-turning appearance packages are available as well.

The Mustang GT's list of equipment is similar to that of the base EcoBoost trim. However, it adds power front seats. Most importantly, this trim raises the performance bar with a powerful V8 engine. A notch above the GT trim is the more amenity-packed Mustang GT Premium.

Drivers seeking exclusiveness will be interested in the iconic Mustang Mach 1. Not only does this legendary Mustang model come standard with an array of upgraded performance goodies, but it also has a special look.

How Much Horsepower Does the 2023 Mustang Have?

Most drivers will have no complaints about the Mustang EcoBoost's performance capabilities. Its turbo four-cylinder engine keeps the drive exciting by developing a healthy 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Shift your own gears with the car's six-speed manual transmission, or go for the optional 10-speed automatic transmission.

The Mustang GT's V8 engine brings a higher level of performance. Ford rates it to squeeze out a monstrous 450 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. However, special engine upgrades enable the Mach 1 model to crank out an additional 20 horsepower. Several high-performance upgrades are available for the new Mustang. Highlights include a sports-tuned suspension, beefier brakes, and a heavy-duty cooling system.

What Safety Features Does the 2023 Mustang Include?

To give drivers an extra degree of confidence, the Mustang comes standard with a Ford Co-Pilot360 safety package. It adds multiple driver-assist technologies, including an automatic Pre-Collision Braking System.
